What an amazing bout is set for us at UFC 287 when Israel ‘The Last Stylebender’ Adesanya takes on Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira for the Middleweight title on Saturday, April 8.

The last time these two met, at UFC 281 back on November 12, 2022, they gave us a bruising battle to remember. It looked like Adesanya was on course to stun Pereira, but the Brazilian was able to pull out a TKO in the last round at the last minute to beat the Nigerian and claim the UFC Middleweight Championship.

Pereira vs Adesanya 2 preview:

Pereira:

With a record of 4-0 in the UFC and 7-1-0 in mixed martial arts overall, this man has become a force to be reckoned with. He’s defending the World Middleweight Title and has the confidence of having beaten Adesanya twice, once in UFC and the second time in kickboxing, where he claimed the honor of being the only person ever to knock The Last Stylebender out.

Pereira is a hard hitter who likes to pace himself, get his opponent tired, and finally unleash lethal jabs and hooks as he looks for the killer blow.

Adesanya:

Prior to MMA, Adesanya had a successful kickboxing career where he was undefeated until meeting Pereira in the Glory Middleweight Championship, where he lost by unanimous decision. In his last kickboxing fight, he faced Pereira at Glory of Heroes 7, where the Brazilian again stopped him, winning by knockout after a short-left hook in the third.

Adesanya is known for his unique style, where he mocks his opponent. The Last Stylebender relies heavily on his kickboxing background. At 6′4, the Nigerian has an overwhelming reach, giving him an edge over almost all his opponents.
