North American referee Joe Dickerson has been designated to oversee Tuesday’s friendly between the USMNT and Ghana at Geodis Park in Nashville.
California resident Dickerson has been a professional match official since January 2013 and has built up a wealth of experience both in domestic competition as well as in international soccer during the past decade. He speaks both English and Spanish.

MLS debut
A graduate of the University of California, Davis, Dickerson was handed his first MLS match in October 2017 – the Philadelphia Union’s 6-1 home win against Orlando City on matchday 34. Since then he has officiated a total of 89 MLS games – 19 of them during the current regular season.
