The Kansas City Chiefs are on a roll and won’t be halted by the 0-10 Oakland Raiders this Thursday night…
The 2014 Oakland Raiders are a bad team. They haven’t won a game in a year, they are ranked in the bottom three in both offence and defence and it’s looking ever-more likely that they might be the first team since the 2008 Detroit Lions to finish a season winless. Is that likely to change on Thursday Night Football against the 7-3 Kansas City Chiefs? In a word, no.
The Chiefs come into this game on fire since coming out of their bye. They’ve won five in a row and are tied with the Denver Broncos at the top of the AFC West. They’ll be highly motivated to put some pressure on Denver and against a team playing so poorly as the Raiders, it should be a sure-fire win even at the -7.5 handicap at odds of 21/20.
The reason that KC are playing so well can be attributed to two things; an excellent defence and the form of running back Jamaal Charles. The star player has averaged 5.2 yards per rushing attempt this season and has shown his world-class talent week in, week out with some of the best runs you’ll see by any player in the league.
With the way he terrorised one of the best defences in the league last week in the Seattle Seahawks and the fact he leads the team with 10 touchdowns, look for Charles to score a few touchdowns here.
Now we’ve had a few blowouts this season in Thursday Night Football, many have been incredibly one-sided affairs and expect nothing less here. Kansas City will be way too hot for the Oakland Raiders so they should win comfortably, so look to putting some cash on them to win by 13 to 18 points at 5/1 and push the Black Hole ever closer to the shame of a fruitless season.
