The Masters: Who looks most likely to triumph in Augusta?

With the Masters finally upon us again, here is a look at some of those early front runners.

The most eagerly awaited and prestigious golf tournament has arrived on our screens again this week, where all the world´s best golfers come together, to fight it out for that all important green jacket.

It comes as no surprise that this year is as competitive as ever, with a field boasting plenty of big names that are well within contention. Including the return of one of golf´s favourite sons, Tiger Woods.

One of the other big names this year is Phil Mickelson, who looks to have a genuinely great chance of making this his fourth Masters victory. The popular American is renowned for his big hitting of the tee and putting accuracy. Two sets of skills that are always vital in any winning Masters performance. There are also few on the field that can match Phil in terms of experience. He knows his way around Augusta like the back of his hand, and will almost certainly be there or there abouts come the final round.

Phil Mickelson to win is at 20/1, with Betway playing six places for each way bets.

Another American that looks the part for this year´s tournament, is Jordan Speith. This youngster has got bags of talent, which he managed to prove in last year´s event at Augusta, finishing in T-2 just behind Bubba Watson. His putting has been excellent in recent tournaments and consistently proves to be one of his strong points, a great asset to posses for the fast greens at Augusta. He narrowly lost in the Houston Open last week as well, where he impressed throughout the weekend, eventually losing in a play-off.

Jordan Speith to win is at 9/1, and is good value at this price for an each way bet.

This year a lot of people are talking about Dustin Johnson´s prospects, despite him having yet won a major. However, the big-hitting American has been in superb form in 2015 and has finished worse than sixth only once in his last five tournaments, including victory at the Cadillac Championship. There are few people heading into Augusta in better form and with those massive drives always proving such a lethal weapon, it is easy to see why so many fans and pundits alike are tipping Dustin to go all the way.

Dustin Johnson to win is priced at 16/1.

If you are looking for an outside chance this weekend, then perhaps adding Keegan Bradley each way could be worthwhile. He is priced at 66/1 to go all the way this year and he put in an impressive performance in Houston, finishing T-5. Whilst it is hard to see him winning the Masters this year, a player that has shown good recent form is always in with a chance of finishing placed.
